Brand New Range Launched in Major Retailers

Alert Packaging has been working with Ballineen for several years providing quality-led Flexible Packaging for their core range of foodservice and branded retail products; including their brand-new range that has just launched in a number of UK and Irish Retailers. The new products include a Classic Irish Meatball, Succulent Irish Jumbo Sausages, Breakfast Puddings & their signature Flame Grilled & Bar Marked Irish Burgers under a new ‘prepared for you range’ that allows their customers to create delicious meals and snacks in minutes.

The Packaging Design

Before launching their products Ballineen decided they wanted an exciting and vibrant new look to their packaging. A key element of the launch was ensuring the brand identity and packaging design reflected the quality of the product. The packaging was designed by Cora Murphy, Founder and Managing Director of Mesh Designs together with her team who have worked with Ballineen over the last 20 years. The outcome was a selection of refreshed designs for their existing range which has a very unique look, instantly recognisable in store.

The Print

The focus for Alert Packaging was to ensure that the new range of designs was consistently printed to the highest industry standards. Using the very best in award-winning HD Flexographic print technology and quality control procedures we could ensure their brands promise of quality.  Specialising in colour profiling on all substrates using our HD Flexographic Artwork Guide which would guarantee the best reproduction of the Ballineen brand using CIELAB X-Rite Compliant Technology. Even before we start printing, we optimise our process by using automatic plate mounting to position the printing plates using image recognition technology, guaranteeing complete accuracy.

66% Reduction in Plastic Packaging

Alert Packaging also worked with Ballineen to understand their vision to reduce their carbon footprint and see how our format options could help to eliminate additional plastic packaging. By changing the format to 100% recyclable PE Form Fill & Seal packaging it has enabled Ballineen to reduce their packaging by an incredible 66%. Previously some of their products had been packed in trays specifically for the retail market; however now the branded Form Fill & Seal packaging is available for both retail and foodservice.

New Designs…

The new range delivers new and innovative products into the convenience sector whilst saving the consumer time without ever compromising on quality. The Ballineen brand is available in UK Retailers as well as all major Irish Retailers.
