Alert Packaging sets standard for flexographic printing

For over 44 years Alert Packaging has manufactured quality-led flexible packaging for the food industry at its premises in Bray, Co. Wicklow. “As an Irish owned family run business, it is fantastic to be recognised as flexographic packaging printer of the year, 2019, at the Irish Print Awards,” said Darren Burke, director.

“In 2018 we were finalists in this category and in 2017 we were finalists in the luxury packaging category, so it is a real honour to be successful this year;  we are delighted,” Burke said. “At Alert Packaging our local team works in a partnership approach to understand our customers’ specific requirements which enables us to offer the most suitable packaging solution for their needs. We have a fantastic customer base which we work with very closely,” he said.

“There is a real sense of trust between us and our customers, some of whom have been with us for many years and we have developed a very strong working relationship, responding to their needs and those of the industry,” said Tony Barry, sales director. Products produced by Alert Packaging include: stand up pouches; roll fed film for form fill and seal; thermoforming; cook -in bags and casings.

In 2016 Alert Packaging invested in a flexographic printing press which has enabled it to achieve the highest level of print. “This allows us to print in perfect register accuracy – <50 microns – resulting in brilliant image details and the sharpest text possible. We also focused on additional technological advancements such as our 100 per cent inspection system and automatic plate mounting equipment which ensures total quality control.  We offer our customers free access to an online portal system which grants them instant access to their order information 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Barry.

“At Alert Packaging we have a culture of innovation and have been hugely successful with helping many clients with their specific packaging requirements. Some of our innovative products include: M’steam®,; flavour and colour transfer casings and ARCpet® OvenCook,” he said.
